This thesis describes the development of a web browser which is programmable, or so-called “Programmable Browser”. Programmable Browser is a flexible web browser that allows the user to browse the web like any web browser can do. Additionally, Programmable Browser allows the user to program its activities by scripts. The scripts provide the browser’s automatic activities, for example, user can specify in the script to open and close the browser at specific time. Programmable Browser can connect to a specific news server, request the articles from a specific news group and download them to the personal computer and finally automatically send them to his/her friends. The user can program or load his/her own scripts for his/her own purposes. The user can store his/her scripts for future use. The script’s functionality can be extended with no limit according to the functionality that can be provided by a web (CGI) application. For example, the user can program the script to search for keywords in Internet and then send the messages to a mobile telephone.Finally, you can use program Telnet to connect to this Programmable Browser and control it remotely machine from a long distance.
