This thesis describes the effect of deadtime and the compensation in a single-phase full bridge PWM inverter, for the load capacity is larger than 500 VA at various deadtime. Load current direction is detected for two compensating methods. The deadtime compensation is implemented using by an external circuit to control gate signals. The compensation of deadtime in PWM inverter performance such as total harmonic distortion, low order harmonic for deadtime compensation method and without deadtime compensation has been done. The closed agreement between simulated results and measured results confirms the achievement of this PWM inverter waveform performance.
