This project presents a study of operation of single-phase AC/DC converter, whish power can be bidirectly flowed. During the normal direction, the power flow from the AC input to the DC side ,the converter acts as a rectifier, the input current almost inphase with input voltage and a power factor is nearly unity. During second direction, the power flow from the DC side to the AC input ,the converter acts as an inverter, the input current almost 180 out of phase with input voltage and a power factor is nearly unity. The magnitude and direction of power flow are controlled by current control method by using fixed band adaptive current controlled technique, which the input current is sensored to compare with sine reference current to make input current is nearly the same as sinusoidal. The power factor is well and low harmonic current .
