
This thesis presents a controller design method called Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM). By this method, the simplest controller can be designed to achieve specification requirements efficiently. The designer can design the controller and the characteristic polynomial of the closed-loop system simultaneously. The closed-loop step response using the proposed controller exhibit a good balance of stability and robustness. In addition, the relation between coefficient diagram and closed-loop performance can be used to compare the different responses between the systems.
