This project is about designing and building a mini brown rice husker machine for family. It had two components the first component was to husk and the second component was to separate husk by air. Principle of working is the paddy brings take in hopper and the paddy flow in the fine space, pass roller flow control. The mini brown rice husker machine was husked by to groups of rubbers, each group had a pair of 4 inches-rubbers that were rotated which different velocity. The slower rubber was rotated at 525 rpm and the faster one was rotated at 900 rpm. The first rubber group was husked rice partially, then husk and air are sucked to the filter unit, and paddy from the first rubber group passed through the slice to the rubbers group to husk the final part of the rice. After that husk and air was sucked again and the brown rice dropped to below husker. The second component was to separate husk, had two parts. The first part is blower. The blower sucked husk and sent to the second part. The second part is cyclone. Cyclone separate husk and air, with husk suddenly dropped to below husker and air flowed to the top of cyclone. The first component is blower, which was rotated at 2700 rpm by calculation. Husk was sucked with in this component and blew to the cyclone, which is the second component separated husk and air. Husk moved downward and air moved upward to the top of cyclone. From experimentation found that husking rate 0.127 kg/min and husking efficiency 95.3%.
