Flow Visualization

This project was the design of apparatus for studying the flow phenomena in pipe. The fluid in use was water. This apparatus could use to study the phenomena that occurred at Reynolds number in the range of 0 to about 15174. The study was divided into two parts that were the study of flow phenomena through the pipe and the study of flow phenomena through the flat plate in pipe.
The study of flow phenomena through the pipe could divide the flow region into 3 ranges that is laminar flow, transition flow, and turbulent flow which Reynolds number was in the range of smaller than 1840, between 1840 and 3700, and more than 3700, respectively. In the order hand, the study of flow phenomena through flat plate in the pipe. The experiment was done by varying the angle of float plate. The angle of flat plate 0–10° the wake did not occur and for the angle more than 10° the wake did not occur in the back of flat plate.
