ACCESS CONTROL BY MAGNETIC CARD

This thesis presents a design of the Access Control System using Magnetic Cards. This system comprises of center, terminal processor unit and a personal computer. The center module is used to control, communicate with terminal via RS-485 and communicate with a personal computer via RS-232-C.

When data from a magnetic card is read at the terminal by a magnetic card reader and match the assigned code, the system will unlock the door. Also, the card and access time will be recorded. It will be transmitted center and personal computer by protocol. In designed system, center and terminal are controlled by the MCS-51 microcontroller.
