Self study, a supplement to in-class study, allows students to study at their own leisure time. In the past, self study media is in the form of books and video tape. These media provides a form of one way instruction whereas students have to review particular subjects by themselves a number of times for better understanding on those subjects. With present technology, CD rom has taken over as a popular self study media. And the form of instruction has transformed from one way instruction to interactive computer assisted instruction (CAI).Find Abstract

REINFORCED CONCRETE DESIGN

With present technology, CD rom has taken over as a popular self study media. And the form of instruction has transformed from one way instruction to interactive computer assisted instruction (CAI).
A well written CAI will guide students in basic theory and even acts as a tutor helping students solving practical problems. It is the intention of this special project to pioneer the CAI in civil engineering courses teaching at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology – Ladkarbang. The chosen course is “Reinforced Concrete Design”. The instruction includes basic theory and step-by-step procedure in designing of all basic reinforced concrete members.
