In construction business, follow up is an important process to monitor the progressive status of its project to be as planned. Presently, the measures that we use to evaluate are from “Daily”, “Weekly” and “ Monthly Construction Performance Report”. However, there are still some differences on performance reports that are used by each concerned parties.
Such differences may create confusion and misunderstanding between these concerned parties ie. Contractor and consultant, thus, setting up the standard formats or guidelines for all contraction performance reports can be one way to help monitoring the progressiveness of the project more effectively.THE STUDY OF FLOOD CHARACTER
The Pa-sak basin is important medium size sub-basin of Chao-Phra-Ya basin. Its drainage area is 16,292 km . Its slope is steep, so the flood flows rapidly in the rain season and damages the agricultural area.The study of flood character in Pa-sak basin is to determine the coefficient of time and coefficient of discharge by using daily runoff and rainfall data to make the unit hydrographs that describe flood character in Pa-sak basin.
Once buildings are fired, there are some questions whether those buildings are serviceable or whether they should be demolished or restored only damage parts. However, nowadays there are no exact evaluation criteria. Accordingly, this special project studied and collected criteria, to use for evaluating serviceability of fired buildings. The evaluation procedures were divided into three stages, i.e. preliminary investigation, engineering investigation and load capacity testing – the final stage – in order to ensure the seviceability of fired buildings before they may be used again. In addition, case studies were collected to cite them as examples.REINFORCED CONCRETE DESIGN
Self study, a supplement to in-class study, allows students to study at their own leisure time. In the past, self study media is in the form of books and video tape. These media provides a form of one way instruction whereas students have to review particular subjects by themselves a number of times for better understanding on those subjects. With present technology, CD rom has taken over as a popular self study media. And the form of instruction has transformed from one way instruction to interactive computer assisted instruction (CAI).
A well written CAI will guide students in basic theory and even acts as a tutor helping students solving practical problems. It is the intention of this special project to pioneer the CAI in civil engineering courses teaching at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology – Ladkarbang. The chosen course is “Reinforced Concrete Design”. The instruction includes basic theory and step-by-step procedure in designing of all basic reinforced concrete members.THAILAND’S BUILD OPERATE TRANSFER
Transportation system in Thailand are considered as basic needs for country’s economic development. These systems mostly have the large and complicate organizaion and need a laege amount of funds. Due to the restriction of government’s revenue, and for reducing the borrowing portion, the government needs investment from private sector as new approach to solve these problem. However, there are many differences in pattern, operation and problem among these BOT transportion project in Thailand.
This study would like to analyze the detail of contract of Thailand’s transportation projects, those are Second stage Expressway System (SES), The Don-muang Tollway project, and Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS). This study concentrated on the differtences in the detail of contract and analysis the problems for each projects. By collecting and discussing all of the informations, the project will finally give conclusions and suggestions for the futher projects.PRESTRESSED CONCRETE DESIGN
The object of this special project is to pioneer computer aided instruction in the department of civil engineering. Electronic files were gathered and published in a form of Microsoft Word 2000 document and is available for access via the Internet. Students can access and download these files for self-studying or for references. Instructors can present these files on the screen in the classroom in a more effective manner than putting sheet by sheet of transparencies on the overhead projector.
This report consists of two parts The main part contains theories, examples and flowcharts used in the analysis and design of prestressed concrete structures. The design follows Engineering Institute of Thailand (E.I.T. 2534) and American Concrete Institute (ACI 318-99) standards. The supplementary part contains a design aid, which is a program written in Microsoft Excel 200. The program covers the design of beams and slabs based on ACI Standard 318-99. This small supplementary program concept is to allow user to input in a user-friendly way and to provide output, which is easy to read and understand.SOLVING TRAFFIC CONGESTION IN BANGKOK
By considering historical traffic record, the main roads of inner central of Bangkok face serious traffic congestion, quantity of cars on road is more than 2,000 cars/hr, eventhough many approaches were implemented on this area. As a result, road pricing approaches were implemented on this area. As a result, road pricing approach shall be considered as another choice for traffic congestion relief, especially in developed countries. So objective of this research is to find the relationship between public attitude on acceptance road pricing system and factors influencin to their attitude.
By cosidering the quantity of traffic, pollution, financial and operation criteria, road pricing system should be implemented on inner central of Bangkok area, system area, that is area between Chaophaya River, Sathon Road, Witthayu Road, Ratchprarop Road, Ratchawithe Road, Rama VI Road and Lanluang Road. The survey was done by using questionnaire with random sampling for the people in Bangkok. Then the gathened data were analyzed by using kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Run test and Chi-square test. For the conclusion the factors influencing to their attitude are age, income, car using frequencies of entering in system area and stress from traffic congestion. From the result of the public attitude survey, most of surveyed people agreed with applying road pricing system on system area.A Comparison Between Bearing Capacity by Theory and, by Field Test on KMIT'L Soil
Bearing capacity of soil can be estimated by theoraticl calculation from empirical formula and field test. Both values from both have a relation that can help to estimate each others.
Four locations on King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang’s clay were explored and tested . Plate bearing tests were done at 0.30-0.50 m. deep from ground surface. Collected data were analysed and interpreted by Chin’s and Mazurkiewicz’s related to Hansen’s by qcalculated = 1.03 qexperiment. Average ultimate bearing capacity was 20.16 t/m2 and divided by safty factor 3.5 . So allowable bearing capacity was 5.76 t/m2

Study of Impact Capacity of Steel
In construction field now, steel were used wildly. And mose not consider steel impact capacity. In some project that used steels be members may tumble down. According to this reason, this special project is aimed to test steel impact capacity of steels that have difference in tensile strength at many temp for studying and construction in the future.
Notch toughness is the measure of the resistance of a metal to the start and propagation f a crack at the base of a standard notch, commonly using the Charpy V-notch test. This test uses a small rectangular simply supported beam having a V-notch at midlength. The bar is fractured by a blow from a swinging pendulum. The amount of energy absorbed is calculated from the height the pendulum raises after breaking the specimen. The amount of energy absorbed will increase with increasing temperature at which the test is conducted.

Management Information System for Civil Engineering in the Part of Materials
Nowadays, information Technology plays a role in the execution of organizations. The advantage organizations need to execute the data more efficiency including construction companies. If organizations did not have the management of document, there were many problems in companies.
The result of preliminary survey indicated that there was not an potential MIS for Thai construction industry. So this research developed LCSM2002 (Ladkrabang Civil System Management 2002) program. Data were gathered by interviewing experienced engineers and purchasing officers from 10 Thai construction companies. Delphi Enterprise Edition Software was chosen to develop LCSM2002. This program showed the result as 4 parts, that were project data, purchasing, equipment borrow and database. Its search function made easily document and data finding. The program provided some designed documents for general company. Moreover it can be used for managing document and work process.

Service Ability Evaluation of Fired Building by Calculation Method
When a building was burn by fire a many question alwayss occer, such as sreviceability of building, repair some damaged element and then reuse that building. At the present no exact evaluation of serviceability of burn building was establised, hence, this study had proposed a method to compute the strength of burn reinforced concrete structure
Initial data for calculation, i.e. Type and member of material that are in building, ventilation in building. After a previous data can be find, a residual strength of main structure, i.e. column, beam, slab can be solved then we already know what we must do about this building.

The Study of Quantity Factors for Two Storey Housing Cost Elemental Estimate
At the present, in Thailand, the preliminary cost estimate was mostly prepared based on cost per square meter rate which is the low accuracy and precised method. The elemental cost estimate is considered as the higher efficient method. Due to lacking of data for this method is Thailand, this study had gathered all construction costs and quantities from twenty complete two storey houses which were constructed in bangkok. These data were used to analyze relationship of quantity factors (Q.F.) for Elemental Cost Estimate as specified by National Public Works Conference (N.P.W.C.) standard, Australia. The realtionships of Quantity Factors (Q.F.) and cost per element were tabulated for easy reading and use.

A Cost Control System for Medium to Large Construction Companies
Kan Horharitanon (2544) found that many Thai construction companies didn’t use cost control system (CCS) and there was not the efficient and suitable CCS for Thai construction. CCS, which was used by many Thai contractor firms, lacked of efficiency, because of ambiguous cost evaluation system and inefficiency, cost code usage. Thereof, this study was aimed to assess and design the efficient CCS for Thai medium to large construction companies. For the system, cost code was specified by analyzing the code system of Construction Specification Institute (CSI) and Uniform Construction Index (UCI). The CCS was designed and created by using the information from evaluation CCS of 6 medium and large Thai construction companies. The proposed cost control system comprised of flow-chart, to show the flow of documents, and document forms for cost control system.
